We think it is far better to learn about our branch first hand than read about it
here - let's just say that we have enthusiastic members who will extend a warm welcome
when you come along.
Some members sit on the Branch Executive Committee and work hard to organise events
in our area. None of us would claim to be anything other than ordinary; our roles
include strategic marketing and events managers, lecturers, consultants, marketing
executives and researchers.

Our activities
We realise that time is precious and often people don't have enough time to attend
events. We would appreciate your thoughts on what would make it worthwhile investing
your valuable time in attending an event.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing supports various Market Interest Groups and one that is particularly
active in our region is the Small Business Group.

The North Staffordshire branch is centered on the city of Stoke-on-Trent and caters
for our members; local professionals and students throughout North Staffordshire,
North Shropshire, West Derbyshire and South Cheshire.
Our highly rated events take place at various locations in the best interest of
our membership.
The Branch Committee, comprising of marketing professionals, lecturers and students,
is entirely voluntary and dedicated to:
- Facilitating a wide-ranging series of topical events.
- Sourcing contributors keen to provide local businesses and marketers
with up to date knowledge on latest marketing developments (e.g. sensorial marketing)
and focused expertise (e.g. NHS social marketing).
- Disseminating marketing based information and skills in order to
boost business activities and profits.
- Sharing marketing best practice and discussing matters of mutual
interest with fellow professionals at all stages of their careers in a relaxed and
friendly environment.
Whether you are a member, professional, manager, sole trader, lecturer or student,
we would be delighted to hear from you.

Our activities
With a close relationship with Staffordshire University, most branch meetings and
events are held on the Stoke campus, typically in the Pavilion Suite, College Road,
or around the Ashley Building campus site, Leek Road, both just off the main A500,
although visits to local businesses are also arranged.

The NorWest Midlands Branch is based in Wolverhampton.
Our branch was founded in 1958 as South Staffordshire. However, following the redrawing
of the boundaries to create the West Midlands, the name was changed to be more appropriate
to the area covered.
The NorWest Midlands Branch covers the Black Country Boroughs of Wolverhampton,
Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley, plus the South and East of Staffordshire, South Shropshire
and North Worcestershire.
Our activities
Our branch is highly focused on providing meetings and events that are of interest
to all members. We regularly attract good audiences of more than 50 members plus
their guests.
Our events can form part of members' Continuing Professional Development, CPD, and
we arrange events in different CPD categories, including workshops.
All of our events are open to non-members with an interest in marketing, including
professionals from other institutions.
Feedback from our events shows a consistent high level of satisfaction from those
attending. However, we are always looking at ways to make further improvements,
so members' feedback and views are highly valued.
