This case study features the deployment of project management discipline for E-CRM success.

Acco developed a web based e-commerce platform, ?Acco-OnLine?, combining web-based ordering with online e-service.  Critical to the success of this project was the use of robust project management discipline.  To ensure success Acco identified a fairly unique skill-set required for the project team, solid training in project management methodology, effective software support, using Microsoft Project, and a dedicated intranet for the project team to manage information and progress.

Four steps to project success included:

  1. Initial scope and customer research    
  2. Evangelising the vision    
  3. Analysis of the business benefits    
  4. Mobilising the project team resources
