The purpose of this course:

This workshop will give you the skills to confidently seek and respond to competitive tenders of all types, from a simple two page quotation, to a tender issued under European Union guidelines, and the e-sourcing process.

You will be able to determine the different categories and contexts of tenders and invitations, by identifying critical success factors and benefits available to make a persuasive response. You will develop your creative presentation skills as well as creating a project team briefing strategy to ensure that you are using all your resources effectively.

You will learn how to:

  • Determine the different categories of tender and how to respond – the commercial context procurement    
  • Decide whether to bid or not – is it necessary to tender to gain the contract?    
  • Prepare an initial response – an expression of interest (selling document)    
  • Recognise public and private sector issues    
  • Decide on the proposal project team – its structure, leadership and process    
  • Deal with the management of the tender project    
  • Prepare the business case    
  • Prepare the proposal document with impact    
  • Develop the presentation    
  • Write the covering letter    
  • Debrief and plan for future bids
