The aims of the North Wales branch are to:
- Create new strategic partnerships which can only occur in a Wales/Welsh
context, improve marketing networks in the Wales business community
- Establish CIM in Cymru/Wales as the primary point of
contact on any marketing-related issue for government, media and business within
Wales
- Exploit new funding streams
- Increase membership and in particular redress the imbalance between
North and South
- Increase the profile and take-up of The Chartered Institite of
Marketing student membership
- Enhance 'ownership' of The Chartered Institute of Marketing by
its members in Wales and empower those members
- Recognise the reality of devolved Government in Wales and actively
engage with and influence the development of devolved decision-making
- Recognise and exploit the value of bilingual Wales
Our activities
Events in North Wales tend to be held in Bangor and Wrexham. We also arrange events

Events in South Wales tend to be held in Newport, Cardiff and Swansea and are supported
by the South Wales Branch Committee. We also arrange events with other professional
bodies where appropriate. See below for details of forthcoming events. If you would

Continuing professional development is at the heart of our activities. CPD can take
many forms. Mentoring/coaching others to allow for the effective dissemination of
knowledge is a CPD activity and you can claim up to 21 hours per annum under this
category towards gaining or maintaining your Chartered Marketer status. For example,
ProHelp in West Wales, managed by Business in the Community Wales, provides advice
and support free of charge to community and voluntary organisations in their local
