Bristol and West
Branches and Market Interest Groups are the primary local point of focus and interest for members enabling them to meet, talk, gather information, exchange views and opinions on developments and discuss matters of mutual interest with fellow professionals at all stages of their careers.
Welcome to the Bristol & West Branch. We have over 1150 members of whom approaching 40% are studying members.
The Branch (formerly Bristol Branch) is one of the oldest in the country and draws its members from a large area of the West Country including Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset.
Geographically the Branch is quite diverse with members based in major cities as well as dispersed across the rural counties of Wiltshire and Somerset.
Reflecting the structure of the wider region’s economy we have many members who are self employed or work in smaller businesses whilst in the urban centres we have clusters working in large national or multinational businesses in key sectors including financial services, aerospace and communications.
For the coming year (2008-9) our plans include;
Increasing our membership by introducing a member-get-member scheme
Using new employer packs through which employers can communicate membership benefits to their employees
Expand our external communications through a higher level of PR activity, introducing an e-newsletter for members and collaborating with Business Links to use their newsletters to carry CIM news and information
Introducing the new role of Branch Champion
Focusing on a small number of high profile events to encourage greater member participation including;
-
The Marketing Challenge – a team competition event based around general and marketing knowledge run over 2 rounds during the winter months
-

-
