North Staffordshire Branch is centred on the City of Stoke-On-Trent, and looks after CIM members throughout north Staffordshire, north Shropshire, west Derbyshire and south Cheshire. The major towns represented by branch members around the Stoke-On-Trent hub include Burton-on-Trent, Leek, Litchfield, Stafford, Stone, Uttoxeter, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Ashbourne, Buxton, Crewe & Nantwich, Congleton, Middlewich, Sandbach, Tarporley and Winsford. Traditionally the main industries centre on agriculture (“The Cheshire Milk Belt”) and industrial manufacture (“The Potteries”), but more and more hi-tech manufactures and service industries are entering the fringes of our area, including pharmaceuticals, finance and telecommunications.

With a close relationship with Staffordshire University, most branch meetings and events are held on the Stoke campus, typically in the Pavilion Suite, College Road, or around the Ashley Building campus site, Leek Road (see www.staffs.ac.uk/maps), both just off the main A500, although visits to local businesses are also arranged. In addition to Staffordshire University, the branch aims to develop links with other local colleges that promote best CIM marketing practice, including Stoke College and Stafford College, as well as the other business education centres in the region for example, those at Keele University, Manchester Metropolitan University (Crewe campus) and Reaseheath College (Nantwich).

Our aim is to provide a whole series of topical and interesting events to members and potential new members in Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire and the surrounding counties, providing a local point of focus and interest. Our members are encouraged to meet, talk, gather information, exchange views and opinions on developments and discuss matters of mutual interest with fellow professionals at all stages of their careers in a relaxed and friendly environment.

If you have topics you would like the branch to cover, or would like to become part of the small team who orchestrate the events for the area, please feel free to drop us a line or have a chat with our friendly committee at one of our events. You are always welcome!
