    6:00 PM - London

Innovation and new product development is a growing field in both the charity and commercial worlds. In the last 5 years more charities have established innovation teams to create fundraising products that can bring in annual income, whilst others have opted for providing a culture of ‘innovation’ or the idea of open innovation to generate ideas from the front line. The hunt is on for the next big coffee morning/ dryathalon/Christmas jumper day…

Within the commercial world, large businesses are now realising that to create innovative products and services that are unique from the competition then they need to be truly customer-centric. As innovation in charity becomes more commercial; what can charities learn from businesses, and what can businesses learn from charities?

This evening event will capture some practical ways that you can build your creativity and innovation skills whether you work in a small or big organisation.

    Speakers:

    • Alison Paul who is a product, proposition development and health marketing specialist with over 12 years’ experience within marketing, partnerships and campaigns. She is passionate about innovation and new ideas with interests across digital technology, social media and trends. Health and not for profit markets. She is currently New Product Development manager at Bupa, having previously worked at Cancer Research UK within the innovation team and in health marketing.

    • Lucy Gower is founder and director at Lucidity. She is an accomplished trainer, coach and consultant specialising in innovation and author of the best-selling book “Innovation Workout”. Lucy led the first innovation team at the NSPCC and it was here that she realised that for change to happen you need a clear purpose, the best ideas, processes and technology, and most importantly you need the right people working together. Since leaving the NSPCC in 2012 Lucy has worked with over 50 organisations including Amnesty International, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Nesta, The Children’s Society and Greenpeace to help them their teams think more clearly and work together to get better results.

The audience will also be able to participate in a facilitated discussion led by Professor Ian Bruce.
