    Balancing innovation and marketing: The two key elements of organisational success.

    Marketing in micro and developing entrepreneurial organisations is inherently intertwined with innovation. Companies that choose to ignore these two important aspects of commercial success do so at their peril.

    To be truly effective, innovation has to be pervasive and consistent in an organisation, just as marketing has to be with the organisation’s stakeholders through engagement and collaboration.

    Dr Paul Connor, President and Chair of CIM Midlands presents his thoughts on how to balance advances in product and service innovation with an increase in the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing in order to get embryonic companies a foothold in the market, gain competitive advantage and increase shareholder value.

    Chris Hobson, Head of Policy and External relations at the East Midlands Chamber, will present an authoritative guide to the support and funding streams available to small and start-up businesses in the East Midlands. In particular, he will focus on the East Midlands Growth Hubs, and the LLEP Gateway to Growth initiatives.

    For small business owners, budding entrepreneurs, students and professional marketers this event will examine the relationship between formal marketing practices, and entrepreneurial behaviour.
