    We always live in interesting times but none more so than right now. At our latest CIM London event we’ll try to understand what’s driving populations here and elsewhere in the world to reject the status quo. Are we seeing new consumer and social trends emerging, is this the end of globalisation as we know it and how will the new order affect business and marketing?

    Paul Flatters, CEO of thought leadership, insight and foresight analysts the Trajectory Partnership will provide some commentary and facilitate a lively panel ‘discussion’.

    Speakers

    Paul Flatters is the Founder and CEO of Trajectory Partnership. He has over 20 years’ experience advising clients on the strategic implications of social and economic change. His career has also included roles as Head of Research for BBC News and Director of Research for Which?/Consumers Association. At Trajectory his clients include Bacardi, BBC, Big Lottery Fund, General Medical Council, Heineken, O2, Royal London, VisitEngland and Waitrose. Paul is a regular conference speaker and commentator. He has written for the FT and Harvard Business Review and presented BBC Radio 4's Four Thought. Paul was previously CEO of the Future Foundation and a Director of The Henley Centre for Forecasting.

    Paul Hitchens is a founding partner of Verve Brand and is responsible for consultancy, training and brand coaching. He is a Chartered Marketer and Course Director with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has written and presents the Branding Masterclass, Brand Identity and Brand Touchpoints courses. Paul is also the author of three guidebooks on branding; 'Brand Management in A Week', 'Successful Brand Management - In A Week' and 'Create the Perfect Brand - Teach Yourself'. Paul is a frequently interviewed for TV and radio and is a guest contributor for newspapers and business journals. Paul previously worked for Wolff Olins on the General Motors (GM) brands of Vauxhall, Saab, Opel and North American Vehicles.

    Charlie Dawson established The Foundation in 1999 and it has evolved into a consultancy helping clients solve their most difficult growth challenges, in ways that are genuinely sustainable, by being more effectively customer-led and externally orientated.  The Foundation has long relationships with HSBC, Visa, M&S, O2 and the Volkswagen Group, and recent projects include helping Jaguar Land Rover keep more customers, helping Morrisons find ways to differentiate and compete strongly in future including developing a strong and authentic purpose, and helping eBay get better at creating trust.  He previously worked in advertising and has a first class degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge.

    Andrew Lewin is an Associate Director at Teneo Blue Rubicon, where he advises a diverse range of organisations on how to protect and enhance their reputation. Past and present clients include: McDonald’s, MAXIMUS, Coca-Cola, Jaguar Land Rover, John Lewis Partnership and the Fair Education Alliance. Andrew works across disciplines, shaping strategies and campaigns that blend corporate communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement. Andrew has spent eight years in communications consultancy and is also an active political campaigner. He was a parliamentary candidate in the 2010 general election and worked in the central Labour Party communications team during the 2015 campaign.

    Both before and after the presentations you will have an opportunity to meet and network with other professional marketers. Food and refreshments are included in the price.

    Professional Marketer series of events

    This is the third event in our new Professional Marketer series of eight events that will be run over the next nine months. They are designed to enhance both the marketing skills and management capabilities of marketers aspiring to reach the highest level of our profession.

    Each event will feature a session on one of the three core skills - Insights, Strategy and Championing the Customer - or eight technical skills that form the basis of the CIM’s Professional Marketing Competencies:

    The second session at each event will focus on one or more of the Behaviours that marketing professionals need to be able to demonstrate in order to contribute to the achievement of business goals. These are:

    Attending all eight or multiple events will help you to build your knowledge, competence and authority as a professional marketer and contribute significantly to your Continuing Professional Development and gaining or maintaining Chartered Marketer status.
