March 15, 2017
6:00 PM - Birmingham
It's impossible to exaggerate the strategic importance of data, particularly 'big data', in terms of driving business growth, competitive advantage and increased customer engagement.
This session will include a consumer perspective, and show what they feel is appropriate and not, and where the line should be drawn. This session will also cover how much data are people willing to give up in order to get personalised service from companies and when do they feel marketers overstep the mark?
Steve Woolley, Head of External Affairs for The Chartered Institute of Marketing, will share research from consumers and marketers which reveals how customers feel about sharing their data and how seriously marketers take those feelings and the issue of data protection. Do marketers keep customers at the heart of their thinking to develop long-term engagement and trust, or cross boundaries for short-term gains?
This will be followed by a panel discussion and debate on the challenges of using data including :
• How can senior marketing leaders ensure that their organisation use data in a responsible manner that keeps the consumer front of mind?
• How can senior marketing leaders use consumer data to build consumer trust and confidence and improve the customer experience?
• How can senior marketing leaders ensure that their organisation stay on the right side of the law and avoid data breaches and ensure that all marketers in their team understand the key elements about the changing law in this area.
