This event provides an overview for the development of collaborative leadership to meet the strategic marketing challenges of tomorrow, whilst helping professional marketers to develop and gain a better understanding of the behaviours required in the CIM’s Professional Marketing Competencies framework.
Working collaboratively requires a different leadership approach, ensuring management takes itself beyond internalised and localised goals. Developing collaborative leadership skills requires individuals to understand collaborative leaders are not single-handedly producing plans and directing people, rather they are catalysts in helping others to focus on what is best for all stakeholders. Practising collaborative leadership within a culture of trust-building and cooperation facilitates mutual buy-in, engenders more involvement in the responsibility for successful project implementation and achieving a rewarding return on investment.
At the core of this approach is the world’s first relationship management standard, ISO 44001, for creating and maintaining successful business-to-business collaborations. It sets out a framework enabling organisations of any size and sector to apply good practice principles to their ways of working.
The event will be delivered by Dr Paul Connor, Chair of CIM Midlands and module tutor for Collaborative Leadership at WMG in the University of Warwick.
He will be supported by David Hawkins, Operations Director at the Institute for Collaborative Working and Chris Hobson, East Midlands Chamber Director of Policy & External Communications who will join the panel session to answer your questions on this intriguing topic.
