The event will be followed by an optional short annual meeting where the progress and direction of the Medical Marketing Group will be outlined and discussed.
Speakers
Brian Smith has worked in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors since 1978, first as a research chemist then in an ascending series of marketing and strategy roles in large multinational firms. Since 1998, he has divided his time between research, writing and advising.
Sarah Rickwood is currently one of the leaders of IMS thought leadership initiatives on Launch Excellence, and has constructed a 4,000 launch, eight country analytical resource, providing deep insight into the drivers of excellence in pharmaceutical product launch. She has presented to audiences at pharma companies on issues addressed in this research.
Stephanie Hall has almost 18 years experience in blue chip organisations within the healthcare industry and 5 years ago founded Creative Marketing Measures with a focus on Launch Excellence, Marketing Planning and Competitive Strategy.
Margaret Parton. The NHS Technology Adoption Centre, based in Manchester, aims to assist organisations to navigate the complexities of the 'NHS adoption landscape'; work with NHS Trusts to support the sustainable implementation of new technology; and to produce detailed NHS focused guides detailing how the technology can be successfully implemented and the benefits to both patients and organisations that can be achieved.
Ian Poxon, Clinical Procurement Consultant, Honorary Chair, National Network of Clinical Procurement Specialists, Retired RGN.
Ian began his NHS career in 1977, training to be a Nurse. He spent 18 years as an ITU charge Nurse at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham where he developed a stock control system for the unit and founded product users groups within the Trust. In 1998 he was asked to rationalise and standardise products used across the Trust, this led to the development of the Clinical Procurement Specialist. This role was initially a cost saving venture but quickly developed to encompass quality, safety and training, ensuring all products used enhanced Patient care, supported staff and achieved value for money.
The National Network of Clinical Procurement Specialists was founded in 2003. As chair Ian was involved in many National committees in relation to procurement.
Bryan Stewart Is Vice President, International Sales, Biomet Microfixation. Bryan has a diverse background including duty as a United States Marine Corps infantry officer and multiple sales and marketing leadership roles in a variety of healthcare related companies. He is a proven leader with documented success in building winning teams, achieving results and developing other leaders in a wide array of organizations. Bryan brings a global perspective with solid career experiences in roles of significant responsibility, influence and value. His driving passion is leadership and leadership development and helping others achieve their personal and professional potential. A true southern gentlemen with a love of life, laughter and his family, he is currently the Vice President for International Sales with a leading global medical device company.

The symposium will be held at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Regent's Park, London, founded in September 1929 by Professor William Blair-Bell and Sir William Fletcher Shaw. The new College building was completed in 1960 and formally opened by Her Majesty The Queen. Registration is from 10:00, the event will start at 10:30 and finish at 16:00.
