Bristol and West
Part of the South West region
Professional marketing for all business communities.
Welcome
The Bristol and West branch has just under 1,000 members, comprised of both professional and studying members, and draws its members from a large area of the West Country including Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset.
Geographically the branch is quite diverse with members based in major cities as well as dispersed across the rural counties of Wiltshire and Somerset.
Reflecting the structure of the wider region’s economy we have many members who are self employed or work in smaller businesses whilst in the urban centres we have clusters working in large national or multinational businesses in key sectors including financial services, aerospace and communications.
Our activities
Our plans include:
-
Increasing our membership by introducing a member-get-member scheme.
-
Using new employer packs through which employers can communicate membership benefits to their employees.
-
Expand our external communications through a higher level of PR activity, an e-newsletter for members and collaborating with Business Links to use their newsletters to carry the Institute's news and information.
-
Introducing the new role of Branch Champion.
-
Focusing on a small number of high-profile events to encourage greater member participation.
We provide a range of high-profile events throughout the year, giving members an opportunity to stay up to date with the latest thinking and earn CPD hours (these events will be listed at the bottom of this page when available).
To find out what's happening in the Bristol and West branch over the next few months download a copy of the branch bulletin, published four times a year (see related downloads).
For those looking to get more involved there are a number of opportunities open to Chartered Marketers in the region (please see related downloads for details).
We are also looking to recruit new members to our Branch Management Team who, along with current members, benefit from:
-
Experience in team working and development of organisational skills.
-
Valuable networking.
-
Contribution to CPD activity.
-
Raised profile within the business community and useful CV value.
-
Having an opportunity to make a real difference to the profile and contribution good marketing can make to the business community at large.
