New Qualification in Digital and Interactive Marketing to Meet Future Business Challenges

22 June 2009 - The Communication Advertising and Marketing (CAM) Education Foundation has announced the launch of its new qualification in digital and interactive Marketing. The launch is to be addressed by Robin Cavonius and Jonathan Peach, both from Microsoft Limited, and will be held on the evening of Wednesday 1 July from 18:00 to 20:30 at the magical Dali Universe in the Gallery Riverside Building, County Hall, on London’s South Bank.

The launch of this new CAM Diploma marks the end of a thorough period of development and consultation with academics, the foundation’s Accredited Study Centres, students, and employers, to ensure that the qualification is relevant for today’s marketing practitioners in an increasingly competitive business environment.

Visitors to the event will also have an opportunity to meet representatives from CAM Accredited Study Centres and discuss their study and have their career questions answered, whilst networking with CAM graduates and key industry representatives.

Commenting on the launch, Professor Keith Fletcher, director of education at The Chartered Institute of Marketing, who award the CAM diploma, said;

Employers should see a real benefit from staff taking the new qualification as they will be equipped with practical skills to deliver value to the business. The new CAM Diploma’s are designed to ensure that marketing staff have an up to date, relevant knowledge of both the theory and the reality of present and future digital marketing communication.

CAM periodically reviews its qualifications to ensure that it is relevant to both business marketers’ needs and the requirements of business. Over the years, the core theory of marketing has changed little. However, the role of marketing in business worldwide has changed significantly, largely due to technology and a growing awareness of corporate social responsibility but also by organisations recognising that they have a number of stakeholders rather than simply a number of different external customer groups.

The new CAM Diploma helps marketers to understand and exploit these changes to achieve the maximum benefit for not only their own development but also the organisations they work for.

The events keynote speakers, both from Microsoft Limited, Robin Cavonius (Channel Development Manager) Jonathan Peach (Account Technology Strategist) will discuss the topic of 'Millennial Workers' and both the tools and technologies they have grown up with (social networking, IM, blogs, wikis, virtual meetings). They will also examine the business value for these tools and how they can be used successfully within the organisation.
