We have introduced an exciting opportunity that will provide you with the competitive edge you are looking for to embark on a successful marketing career.

MAP is an exciting scheme from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) that gives higher education students on approved degree courses the opportunity to gain multiple professional qualifications in addition to their degree.

This new accreditation service by the Institute helps add value to bachelors and masters degrees. Students can now achieve their CIM/CAM qualification as part of their degree programme, enabling them, to graduate with several qualifications that are sought after by employers. A course of study at a MAP accredited university will include three CIM/CAM qualifications integrated into or can be completed alongside their degree.

Improve your employment prospects

Most graduates consider the greatest return of investment a university degree can offer is the improved employment prospects. The ability to have an academic as well as a professional qualification on your CV will be a huge differentiating factor for you in the market place, increasing your changes to improve your employability.

What is involved?

MAP is based on requests received from the market to develop practical skills, increase employability and add value to the university offering. Underpinning the Multi Award Pathway is Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL), which is a process that allows students to offset credits earned whilst studying for their degree, against our professional marketing qualifications. This means that they do not need to take all the usual assessments to gain the CIM/CAM qualifications.

Degree programme content of MAP accredited universities will be mapped against the learning outcomes of CIM/CAM's professional qualifications to assess, that it meets CIM's requirements for the Multi Award Pathway.

The course of study at the university will usually include the degree and three CIM/CAM qualifications, e.g.:

CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing

Awarded on successful completion of both assessments.

CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing/CAM Diploma in Digital Marketing

Awarded on completion of your degree at 2:2 level as exemption from some units that are based on the degree.

CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing

Awarded on completion of your degree at 2:2 level as exemption from some units that are based on the degree.

The qualifications above are integrated into or can be completed alongside the degree. At the end of their course students will have a degree and three professional qualifications. In addition they will have received the benefits of three years of membership with the CIM.
