Universities

Such is the popularity of marketing that there are over 888 marketing degree courses in the UK*. This only means one thing for universities- competition to recruit students.

We have introduced an exciting opportunity for higher education institutions that will provide you with the competitive edge you are looking for when marketing your university and courses.

MAP – accreditation of prior learning

Dual Award enables students studying a Dual Award accredited and approved marketing degree to gain our Professional Diploma or Certificate in Marketing by passing just two modules as opposed to the usual four. This could be their first step towards Chartered Marketer status which is only available from The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The MAP is based upon accreditation of Prior Learning (APL), which is a credit based process allowing students to offset credit earned whilst studying their degree against our Professional Marketing qualifications.

A number of established institutions, have already made MAP part of their marketing. For a full list of all MAP accredited universities please download the University listing from the related downloads section.

Important Recruitment tool – low cost per student

With the cost of higher education rising, a stagnant job market and slow economy, students are becoming increasingly discerning, viewing themselves as customers and universities degrees as products. When selecting degree courses a greater emphasis is being placed upon return on investment, which for many graduates equates to improved employment prospects.

MAP does just that for students and universities and with a low cost per student it is a highly cost effective way of adding value to your marketing courses.

Build reputation

Achieving MAP accreditation acts as an endorsement of the quality of your course content from the world’s leading marketing organisation. This helps position your course as ‘high quality’ and ‘specialist’ in the minds of prospective students. Your institution will be able to use our logo on your materials and website, helping to cement the bond between the academic and commercial imperatives of marketing.

Increase revenue and retain students

The majority of universities and HE institutions chose to become accredited study centres themselves in order to offer the units necessary to complete the professional qualifications. This involves a process of accreditation and a fee to be recognised as a study centre.

For comprehensive information about the accreditation criteria and process, plus details of accreditation fees, please download the MAP Universities brochure from the downloads section. Alternatively please contact our MAP team.
