9:00 AM - Bristol

In this session you will be shown how to write a SMART business and marketing strategy for short term business gains coupled with long term sustainability.

Course leader Barbara Stopher will help you challenge your view of the business you are actually in; interrogate how you are positioning yourselves to identify and maximize your sweet spot (the part of your customers’ needs that only you can supply); focus on where you want to be in one, five and ten years’ time; consider what the SMART strategies are to get you there; visualise what success looks like and understand how to measure performance to know that you’ve achieved it.

Barbara is a Fellow of the CIM and serves as Vice Chair on the CIM SW board. She has over thirty-five years’ experience in both the corporate and SME sector, especially with branded FMCG products. After an international blue-chip corporate marketing career, Barbara set-up, ran and sold her own strategic marketing consultancy over thirteen years. Now, as a qualified business mentor, Barbara works with business owners and directors to help set and implement business strategy. She is also non-executive director of regional artisan bakers, Hobbs House Bakery.
