    9:30 AM - Belfast

This free event run in partnership with Ulster University, is supported by Mintel market research intelligence.

Every year Mintel selects a number of newly launched products that are deemed successful and those that have struggled in their category.

Mintel’s 45 minute 'winners and losers' presentation will highlight key launches from 2016, looking at their development and include similar products in their category. In additional we'll look to understand the consumer sentiment and positioning for each product, why they have been brought to life and whether they fulfil a specific need.

The presentation will be delivered by Edward Bergen, a consultant with experience in identifying and analysing FMCG trends worldwide, and how these can be applied to different markets and categories for new product innovation and development. Edward is responsible for enhancing relationships and building insight driven, bespoke presentations to Mintel’s UK, Scandinavian and South African clients. Prior to joining Mintel, Edward worked for two of the UK’s largest retailers, Tesco and Morrison’s, in various commercial roles.

The event will also include a local case study from Kristin Jameson who will explain how Heavenly Tasty Organics market their baby snacks using strategic, tactical marketing and working with a limited budget.
