The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018, replacing the current Data Protection Act. The new law will harmonise, strengthen and modernise data privacy laws across the EU, and will apply in the UK even post-Brexit, courtesy of the Data Protection Bill.

At this evening event, hosted by regional law firm Thrings, Partner Graeme Fearon will present an overview of the new GDPR concepts that will significantly raise the bar for every business which processes personal data. He will highlight that the threat of increased fines; together with the risk of reputational impact of data breaches; means preparing for GDPR should be on the agenda of all business leaders, from marketing and IT teams, to the boardroom itself.
