The CIM Marketing Leadership Programme has been developed to respond to both industry and individual needs within the marketing profession. Extensive global, employer-led research has been undertaken across a range of sectors and organisational sizes, to identify the skills and competencies required to full develop a marketing professional into an advocate for leading change.
It will enable you to become integral in identifying the key influences – both external and internal – that are likely to become future drivers of an organisation. Draw on insight, apply strategic thinking and match them with organisational resources to support and deliver on business goals.
What you will learn
Contemporary Challenges (Mandatory)
How to evaluate the potential impact of emerging contemporary marketing challenges and apply strategic thinking to develop future strategies.
Leading Change (Mandatory)
How you can manage an organisation’s assets to build and sustain a clear market position to guide, support and implement market-led change within an organisation.
How to assess the components of a sustainable and clearly defined consultancy proposition. As well as responding to business issues by facilitating changes within a client’s organisation.
Managing Business Growth (Elective)
An understanding of the customer dynamics relevant to the industry sector and be able to evaluate how organisational characteristics influence the market positioning of an organisation’s products or services.
Achieving the qualification
To achieve the full qualification, a pass in BOTH mandatory modules plus ONE elective module is required. Each module can be achieved as an award.
Do you qualify?
You’ll need to have a minimum of three years working at senior marketing management level to study the CIM Marketing Leadership Programme. A business or marketing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or an equivalent qualification) will also enable entry.

What are the costs?
There are three cost elements* to studying this marketing qualification:
- To get started you will need to select your preferred Accredited Study Centre. Once chosen, contact the centre to discuss your tuition costs. Please note costs may vary for each centre
- Then you’ll need to become a CIM Studying Member, for which the annual cost is £60
- When studying, you’ll then need to book your assessments through CIM. Total assessment fees are £285 per module (£855 in total).
