Speakers:
David Thorp, Director of Research and Professional Development, The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
David leads The Institute's Research and Information and Learning and Development divisions. He trained originally as a lawyer but has subsequently acquired over 25 years experience in marketing roles to Director level. Prior to his current role David was Head of Training Development for The Institute, responsible for the full range of its training courses, having previously run his own training consultancy and specialising in international trade and commerce.
Phil Thompson, Business Adviser, Business Link Sussex.
During his career spanning more than 25 years, Phil has hands on experience of all facets of the sales function from representative to Director level. A successful businessman, he has developed new ventures, new markets and the teams of staff needed to achieve ambitious sales targets. Specific initiatives Phil has been involved in include major e-commerce, customer relationship management (CRM) and call centre projects for organisations of all sizes including Nationwide Building Society, Mercedes Benz Finance and Argos Home Shopping.
