Description

Social networking has proven to influence public opinion, shape important discussions, link corporate networks and friends whilst reaching millions of audiences and target markets. It has changed the landscape of doing marketing, advertising and business. Overall, the implications for business and in particular those marketing financial products in times of such dynamic change are enormous.

This thought provoking event will address how marketing functions in financial services can use new marketing concepts. The master class will explore the use of social networking within financial services marketing through expert speakers and case study material. Topics covered will include insights and lessons learnt, new technologies, revenue models for social networking and appropriate business strategies.

Join us on the 10 March to hear three leading speakers on Social Networking. The line-up includes Steve Dunn, who will provide an introduction into social networking, followed by Antony Mayfield, and a case study presentation from Helen Trim.

Steve Dunn, CEO, Digital Drums Ltd, is one of the UK's most powerful advocates of Electronic PR and Marketing Communications. A marketing professional with over 25 years' experience within the corporate communication field, Steve has worked in a variety of senior management communications posts within leading blue chip companies, including roles as Head of PR for British Telecom and Head of European Corporate Communications for South African Airlines. Steve will talk us through who uses social networks and why, he will review the past year's growth and innovation and provide us with an insight into what 2010 holds for social networking. To complete he will provide case study material.

Antony Mayfield is iCrossing's Senior Vice President, Social Media, giving leadership for the company's services and innovation efforts related to the social web. He joined the company in 2006, founding its content & social media teams.

He began his career in media and communications in public relations and joined iCrossing from renowned London corporate communications firm Bell Pottinger Group, working with clients including Vodafone, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Fujitsu. Antony blogs regularly about the web, media and brands on the iCrossing UK blog Connect and his personal blog Open (Minds, Finds, Conversations). He has also written three e-books about media, marketing and the web and a book about personal online reputation, Me & My Web Shadow. Anthony will talk us through networking strategies and tools, how to measure the effectiveness of social networking and provide examples of social networking in the financial services industry.

Helen Trim is the Chief Operating Officer for Fresh Networks. Helen has been working in the digital arena for 15 years. After working at Sun Microsystems and United News and Media, she founded new media agency Chord9 and was most recently a director at Sift before joining FreshNetworks. She's spent the last eight years developing online communities. Helen has been involved in launching over 100 communities, from small collaborative, closed groups to large public-facing communities with over 130,000 members. Clients include Sky, BT, Butlins, Crufts, the Foreign Office and CIPD. Helen will be talking to us about how social networking can benefit financial services (both internally and externally), the best practice for companies and individuals from a B2B perspective, followed by a business network case study.

Who Should Attend? Senior level marketers, Corporate Communications Managers, Marketing Managers, Consultants, Marketing Executives, Marketing Assistants and those involved in marketing/advertising using the internet and mobile technology.
