The purpose of this session is to demonstrate how businesses can achieve a true understanding of customer trends to close the 'needs to offer' gap in a highly dynamic marketplace.

The need for formal customer relationship management (CRM) intervention using a loyalty program is explored and a local organisation case study is used to bring this session to life, demonstrating how businesses can build and manage close customer relationships in the new economy. Afternoon tea is served during this session.

Dr Andrea Reid is a lecturer in the Department of Business and Enterprise, Ulster Business School, University of Ulster. She holds a PhD from Queens University Belfast in CRM. Her most recent research has focused on CRM implementation in an SME context, retailer-supplier relationships and information systems integration in local Government.
