David Thorp
Director of Research and Professional Development
David Thorp currently heads-up the Research and Information and Learning and Development strategic business units of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
David Thorp MSc BA FRSA MCIM represents the Institute on both the Marketing Standards Board and the Sales Standards Board and is a member of the Advisory Group guiding the development of new national standards for Social Marketing.
Prior to this he was Head of Training Development for the Institute, responsible for the full range of training courses offered by the Institute, reflecting an interest in training and development that has been present throughout his career.
Prior to joining The Chartered Institute of Marketing he ran his own training consultancy specialising in the marketing of distance and open learning materials. Before this he was Marketing Director and then Managing Director of Anthony Wade Consultants, a training business specialising in international trade and commerce.
David is a qualified and experienced executive coach and also holds a masters degree in Training and Performance Management.
