    6:00 PM - Glasgow

This talk looks at the issue of effective aspects of traditional marketing being abandoned in favour of sometimes ineffective digital replacements.

We discuss a new breed of digital marketing whiz kids who, although having a great grasp of the tools, sometimes lack an understanding of the theory and purpose of marketing.

Finally we look at ways to bring these two ends of the marketing world together with a number of fascinating examples showing how, when used together properly, digital and conventional marketing can become more, far more, than the sum of their parts.

David Sime has been involved in digital marketing since its inception almost 20 years ago. Over this period he founded, supported and directed a number of online and offline businesses, watching the marketing discipline change almost unrecognisably.

David now lectures online business skills on behalf of Google and the CIM, while directing the international digital marketing agency Oncor Ltd.
