Learn how to create quality content to share online and through social media at no cost, other than your time.
In this session you’ll learn from Nicky Jackson, Deputy Head of Local Campaigns and GCS Local Campaigns Team on how to film a short interview, how to set up a good shot, how to be creative with your video content and how to edit and select video clips for use on social media. We'll also go through the Government Communication Service top tips for creating other kinds of visual content for social - and how to make the most of your imagery.
CIM member and Entrepreneurial Spark incubator Peter Craven will also provide a short input. Peter started using video 10 years ago to break down the barriers to the next sale and has since made over 200 videos with 700,000 views on YouTube and a track record in building awareness and winning new business.
Peter uses video to tell brand stories in a way that engages customers and makes them want to buy whatever it is you are selling. He’ll share his experience of starting with his own video content - filmed, edited and published himself - to prove the concept before committing budget to more high-end content. He will also outline the basic steps you can take to ensure that the videos you create will deliver whatever your desired end result may be.
The session will involve hands-on tuition, so please make sure to bring your smartphones, tablet devices or laptops to develop digital content.
