Over the past few weeks, we have continued to increase our awareness and act as the voice of the profession.
We commented in a range of notable publications on topics, including: our growing international footprint, legislation impacting marketers, hyper-personalisation in the retail industry and the latest marketing trends our members need to know from the recent IPA Bellwether Report.

Decision Marketing: Bellwether reaction: Are one-to-one channels now king?
Chris Daly and senior CIM members from across the marketing sector reviewed and commented on the 2025 IPA Bellwether Q2 report, which was covered by multiple publications, including Decision Marketing:
“What we’re witnessing is a rebalance, rather than a full rebound. Performance-led channels like direct and digital marketing remain robust, but there’s also renewed interest in channels that build brand equity over time – especially with video.
“Marketers are recognising that sustainable growth hinges on consistency, creativity, and connection – factors which are amplified when data, purpose, and technology work together. As the macro picture gradually improves, marketers who maintain a clear vision and a steady hand will lead the charge into recovery.”

Grocery Trader: Chartered Institute of Marketing – Harnessing customer insights in the age of hyper-personalisation
A leading retail publication featured a byline piece from Chris Daly on hyper-personalisation marketing. The piece was featured on publication’s website and in their bi-monthly magazine:
“Whether it is real time access to customer insights, or the ability to capitalise on emerging trends, marketers can gain a greater understanding of their audiences than ever before. There is now ample opportunity for marketers to ensure that campaigns are optimised, and the right messages reach the right people at exactly the right time.
“But despite all the benefits that data-driven marketing brings, it is vital that marketers remain mindful of responsible training practices and standards. Handling customer-data carelessly can lead to unwanted complications, resulting in potential significant financial penalties if it isn’t used responsibly.”

Marketing Beat: Turning Trump's tariffs into strategy: A marketer’s guide to staying ahead
With marketers unsure of the impact of the US' new tariffs, Chris Daly spoke to Marketing Beat on how marketers can not only navigate US tariffs, but also use them to their advantage:
“Marketers must adopt a dual narrative: one that reassures domestic audiences about resilience and value, and the other that promotes growth and agility in international markets.
“But in the face of reports of shrinking marketing budgets and businesses pulling back on the reins, maintaining best practice and demonstrating the value of marketing is crucial. Keeping the following guidance front of mind will enable brand leaders to adapt to the current situation effectively, helping provide clarity and instil a sense of confidence in consumers in times of uncertainty.”
