CIM Sector Interest Groups (SIGs) connect marketing professionals with shared interests across key industries and specialisms. Whether you're in finance, tech, education, or not-for-profit, our SIGs offer tailored insights, events, and peer-to-peer learning to help you stay current, build your network, and deepen your expertise. Run by industry experts, they’re a powerful way to stay connected and competitive in your sector.
This group is intended for marketers who are directly, or indirectly working to deliver services, campaigns, communications, fundraising initiatives and use social marketing and behavioural economics to influence and positively change populations for a charitable or social purpose.
The Charity and Social Marketing Group is open to marketers who are interested in:
The Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG) works on behalf of members to raise the status of the marketing profession within the construction industry.
Being a member of CIMCIG has been shown to have significant benefits and recent surveys have shown that, on average, CIMCIG members earn more than their counterparts.
It is the forum for members to share knowledge, skills, information and best practice.
Marketing directors and other experienced marketers tell us they gain as much, if not more, from CIMCIG membership as newcomers.
Only CIMCIG provides a mix of events, seminars and conferences that are genuinely useful to marketers in construction. Most of our events are Continuing Professional Development (CPD) approved and so help members meet their essential learning requirements every year.
Be inspired by the showcase of work from marketing communications professionals around the world. Keep ahead of the competition with the latest thinking, new ideas, integrated campaigns and trend predictors. Challenge accepted thinking with our curious facts. And share your own views on Twitter and our LinkedIn group.
For curious marketers, the Creative Communications Community provides the inspiration to enhance your integrated marketing communications. From design to digital and advertising to PR, there’s a wealth of knowledge at your disposal. Run by CIM, this is our largest sector interest group for CIM members. Members are also invited to join in the conversation on LinkedIn and Twitter. You can comment on stories, share them, add your own insights and contribute to the news.
The CIM Financial Services Group is the Sector Interest Group for CIM members who are marketers for the financial services industry, from accountants to tax planners, and product manufacturers to financial planners and advisers.
We hold a number of events each year, and aim to provide you with relevant information on the latest developments to enable you to progress in your chosen career. Our events are great networking opportunities – putting you in touch with everyone - from students just entering graduate schemes to chief marketing officers who are in charge of promoting asset management companies. The Food, Drink and Agriculture (FDA) group is the Sector Interest Group for CIM members who work across the UK agricultural, food and drink demand chain.
Founded over 40 years ago, we hold a series of events across the UK each year. We are committed to finding the best quality speakers to address our members on the big issues of today, and the trends that will impact on what we do tomorrow too. Not only in the UK, but also internationally.
Our events provide excellent networking and learning opportunities. We attract a broad range of practitioners, from market researchers, consultants, academics, industry and supply chain professionals, levy boards, Embassy and High Commission staff and brand owners, to senior figures from the farming sector. We pride ourselves on the level of seniority that many attendees represent - but we also welcome, and want, students and next generation marketers to come along and join us too.
We are here to maintain and develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of our members. Our focus is on strategy and organisational competitiveness at the leading edge of marketing knowledge.
We provide this advanced marketing knowledge in the way that senior marketers need it: with an emphasis on practical relevance and value-for-time.
Our intensive meetings let you question respected academics from top business schools and executives from admired companies.
