Overview

The CIM Marketing Leadership Programme is designed for experienced marketers who want to step confidently into senior roles. Developed through global, employer-led research, it reflects the skills and capabilities required to lead marketing at a strategic level in today’s fast-moving business environment. 

You’ll strengthen your ability to respond to complex business challenges, make  meaningful impact, think commercially, and apply strategic marketing leadership in practice, equipping you to influence decision-making and contribute to organisational direction. 

This qualification is designed for experienced marketers who are already operating at a strategic level and want to strengthen their leadership impact

It’s ideal if you’re:

  • A Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing, or in a senior marketing role
  • Aspiring to move into executive or board-level positions
  • Running your own business and looking to drive strategic growth
  • Working as a consultant and seeking to build credibility and professional recognition
  • Responsible for leading change or navigating complex marketing challenges


The Marketing Leadership Programme supports you in stepping beyond functional leadership to a more influential role, helping you lead change, shape strategy, and deliver lasting impact.

Entry level is dependent upon the candidate’s currency and relevance of qualifications and experience.

One or more of the following is required to gain entry onto this qualification: • CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional and Digital Marketing

• CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing

• CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing

• CIM Level 6 Diploma in Sustainable Marketing

• A business or marketing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or an equivalent qualification) where a minimum of half of the credits come from marketing modules

AND

• A range of experience working (normally three years) at Senior Marketing Management level that has provided potential candidates with ability to evidence that they can meet the learning outcomes for the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing if required.

 If English is not the first language, learners will need to demonstrate that they have achieved one of the following English language qualifications in the last two years:

• IELTS Academic Modules with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above)

• Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above

The total cost of your qualification is made up of:

  • Tuition fees, paid to your chosen Accredited Study Centre
  • CIM membership, which starts from £65 per year
  • CIM assessment fees

The current assessment fees for the Level 7 Marketing Leadership Programme are £870 at all rates. This figure is based on successful completion at the first attempt. Resits require additional fees.
