    1:00 PM - Webinar

The food and drink sector is under pressure. Rising producer costs, inflation and the cost of living crisis have introduced further challenges for food and drink marketers in a market that was already undergoing change and intense competition.

At the same time, the spotlight remains on businesses to be judged by what they do – whether it’s community involvement, environmental impact or supply chain integrity, businesses have a number of ‘plates’ to spin.

In a packed session, our three speakers will explain how markets have been affected and how businesses are reacting to the challenges they face – building community partnerships, amending strategies and balancing the need to make a profit against maintaining market shares.

    Kantar – Insight and data
Andrew Walker, Client Knowledge Director at Kantar Worldpanel

Andrew Walker from Kantar will be providing the all-important insight into current market trends in the retail sector.  Who are the winners and losers? Who has adapted well to the cost of living crisis and how have consumers adapted their shopping behaviour as financial constraints start to affect their weekly shop? Kantar are the world leaders in shopper insight and all marketers will learn something from this session to help them plan their future strategies in an increasingly competitive market.

Food and Drink Federation – The producer response
Dr Liliana Danila, Lead Economist at The Food and Drink Federation

How have food and drink manufacturers managed ongoing, persistent rises of raw material and energy costs and severe labour shortages against retailer pressure to maintain low prices and slowing consumer spend. With inflationary pressures set to continue, what will be the impact on the industry's investment and automation projects and what is the medium-term outlook? The Food and Drink Federation, which represents over 1,000 producers from global brands to start-ups will explain how the sector has been managing in an increasingly competitive world.

FareShare – Working with communities and building partnerships
Simon Millard, Food Director at FareShare UK

How can marketers boost their ESG credibility at the same time as helping those in need? The team from FareShare will explain how they have worked with businesses to provide partnerships that reduce food waste at the same time as helping those most in need. In a time when all businesses are being judged not only on what they sell, but what they ‘do’, marketers need to balance the need to make a profit whilst meeting environmental and social/community goals.

This is an event that aims to provide insight, answer questions and generate conversation amongst food and drink marketing teams to help develop winning strategies for the next year and beyond.

The webinar is kindly hosted by the CIM Food, Drink and Agriculture Group and will last approximately 2 hours starting at 13:00 and finishing around 15:00 with presentations from Kantar Worldpanel, FareShare and FDF. After the presentations there will be a live Q&A session for attendees to submit questions for our panel of speakers.
