    How do I know if my degree is CIM Accredited Degree approved and if I am eligible for an exemption?

    You can use the search facility on this page to find out if your degree has been approved by CIM and what exemptions are available.

    Can I complete the CIM qualification(s)/module(s) whilst I am still at University?

    Yes, however, you’ll need to discuss with your tutor to see if your university offers this. If they don’t then you can do it through one of CIM's approved study centres. You can search for an approved study centre here.

    If I don’t study the CIM qualification/modules whilst I am at university, what are my options?

    Providing you achieve a 2:2 or above (undergraduate) or a pass mark (postgraduate), you can study the additional modules via one of our approved study centres (tuition fees will apply).

    How long do I have to complete the additional modules after graduating?

    With a relevant degree from a CIM Accredited Degree university, you have up to five years from graduating to complete the additional module(s) to gain your full qualification.

    Do I need to be a CIM member to study the additional modules?

    Yes, you need to be a member to access the support materials, your membership must also be current at the time of submitting your assessments for marking. As a member you can also take advantage of other benefits such as webinars, great content and attend CIM events.

    How much is CIM studying membership?

    £65 per annum*

    *Fees are reviewed on an annual basis.

    How many modules do I need to complete?

    a. At the Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing level, there are two modules to complete (Marketing Principles is mandatory and then choose from Marketing in Business or Communications in Practice or Digital Fundamentals depending on your CIM Accredited Degree University)

    b. At the Certificate in Professional Marketing level, there is one module to complete (choose from Customer Insights or Marketing in Action depending on your CIM Accredited Degree University)

    c. At the Diploma in Professional Marketing level, there are two modules to complete (Innovation in Marketing plus choose one from The Digital Customer Experience, Resource Management, Managing Brands, Managing Marketing Projects or Managing Digital Marketing Projects depending on your CIM Accredited Degree University)

    d. At the Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing level, there are two modules to complete (Digital Optimisation and The Digital Customer Experience or Digital Optimisatioin and Managing Digital Marketing Projects)

    e. At the Diploma in Sustainable Marketing level, there are two modules to complete (Innovation in Marketing and Sustainablity)

    What are the assessment fees?

    a. Certificate in Professional Marketing (one module to complete) £150*

    b. Diploma in Professional Marketing (2 modules to complete) £190 each*

    If I have completed my degree with the required result and want to study a CIM qualification how can I claim my CIM exemptions(s)?

    To have your exemption(s) confirmed you will need to send a copy of your degree certificate and transcript to exemptions@cim.co.uk

    Reasonable adjustments policy

    Reasonable adjustments enable a candidate with additional requirements to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding to the levels of attainment required by the relevant CIM qualification specification. CIM ensures its Reasonable Adjustments Policy aligns to regulatory and legal requirements. The Reasonable Adjustments policy is available to learners on the MyCIM Portal once they are registered.

    What is the difference between an Accredited degree and Recognised Degree Partnership?

    If your university degree has been accredited by CIM, you are eligible to complete a CIM professional qualification through a set of reduced modules plus, have access to our student membership which offers you a range of exclusive benefits to support your studying. Please contact your university for more information on your course benefits.

    Our recognised degree partnerships are formed across the world between CIM and universities who offer marketing degrees to students. CIM recognition means we have reviewed the course content and mapped it against the Professional Marketing Competencies.
