    In December 2015 one of York's well-known visitor attractions was devastated, like many homes and businesses in the city, by flooding following storm Eva. What followed was a 16-month campaign of fundraising, public engagement and re-imagining that culminated in the reopening of JORVIK Viking Centre in April 2017.

    Paul Whiting, former Marketing Manager for The JORVIK Group and now Head of Visit York, will talk about his career and this key challenge to date. He’ll highlight efforts of the in-house marketing team in re-branding and re-positioning JORVIK as the must-see heritage attraction in the UK, and successes of the 'Return of the Vikings' campaign, leading to wins at both the CIM Northern Awards and national CIM Marketing Excellence Awards.
