It’s almost time for your CIM Graduation Ceremony.
To ensure the safety of our visitors and staff, the date for this year's Graduation Ceremony for your exam board will take place on Saturday 13 November. As this new date falls later in the year after the lifting of restrictions, bookings have now opened for the CIM Graduation Ceremony.
To ensure you enjoy this special occasion without a glitch, we’ve pieced together all the information you need.
This event is by invitation only and for graduates who have passed with their last exam in September 2020, December 2020, April 2021, and July 2021 for the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Professional Marketing
- Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing
- Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing
- CIM Marketing Leadership Programme
- Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing

What happens next?
Order your robe through Ede & Ravenscroft (please see below) by 22 October 2021.

To book your free place at the Graduation Ceremony you will need to register using the ‘Book now’ button on the right-hand side of this page. You will also have the option of purchasing up to three guest tickets, for which payment needs to be completed by 15 October 2021.
Please note bookings will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
All graduates who have booked to attend will receive an acknowledgement soon after and will be sent confirmation details and a detailed programme for the day by email on 22 October 2021.
Graduates will collect tickets for themselves and their guests when registering at the venue on the day. Please note that regrettably children under eight are not permitted into the auditorium while the ceremony is taking place but are able to wait with a guardian in the cafeteria until the ceremony ends.

Further guest tickets can be requested and placed on a waiting list. Students will be notified of any extra guest places by email (subject to availability).
Guest tickets must be paid online at the time of booking. Additionally, requested tickets must be paid when their availability is confirmed, not on the day of the event.
Cancellation and refund policy
Guest tickets are non-refundable four weeks prior to the event. The last day for refunds is 18 October 2021. Refund requests should be made to email@example.com.
Please complete steps 1-8 below covering registration, robe collection, and photography before 11:00 – late arrivals will not be able to take part in the ceremony.
09:00 - 10:30Registration - time slots allocated by surname
Step 1: Registration by surname - Library
For the safety of all of our staff and fellow graduates, please ensure you only arrive during the times above, in accordance with your surname.
On arrival at the venue, please make your way up the short set of stairs where you will be guided to registration. Please ensure you follow the one-way system in place and direct yourself to the desk. Please have your confirmation email ready to show the registration desk where you will be given:
- Your registration ticket which will state your allocated seat number for the ceremony. Please keep this ticket with you throughout the event and ensure you sit in the seat allocated – this is essential so that your name is called out at the correct time.
- A ticket for each of your guests indicating which area they should sit in for the ceremony. Please note there are no specific seat numbers for guests.
- Your Graduation Ceremony brochure.
Step 2: Robe collection - Aldersgate
Please collect your robe from Ede & Ravenscroft, which is located on the lower ground floor. There will a one-way system to guide you to this area. We ask that graduates only enter the robing area itself to avoid any high traffic.
Step 3: Photography - Aldersgate
After collecting your robe, if you would like an official photograph, proceed with your guests to Ede & Ravenscroft photographer which is located next to robing.
Step 4: Relax with peers - Lecture Hall
Once you have completed your robing and photography, please make your way back up the stairs to our allocated waiting area where you can meet your peers and purchase any merchandise to remember your special day.
11:00 - 11:15Seated in the Great Hall
Step 5: Seated in the Great Hall – first floor
- The Great Hall doors open at 11:00. Please make your way to the hall on the first floor for seating and have your ticket ready to show the stewards. You will be guided to your allocated seat and your guests to the relevant area.
- Ensure that your seat number matches the number on your ticket.
- Please be seated by 11:15 – you are required to wear your robe and mortarboard hat throughout the Graduation Ceremony.
11:30 - 12:30Graduation Ceremony
Step 6: Graduation Ceremony starts
- You must remain in the Great Hall until the ceremony ends. Expected finishing time is between 12:30 and 13:00.
- Depending on the qualification you have passed, in surname alphabetical order, the stewards will ask you to create a queue in preparation for you being called onto the stage. You will then need to return to your allocated seat.

All hired robes must be returned to Ede & Ravenscroft by 13:00.

It is compulsory for all graduates to wear a robe for the Graduation Ceremony. The robe hire service is available through Ede & Ravenscroft. Place your order and payment directly with them online or over the phone by calling +44 (0) 1223 861854. Please note we cannot organise payment for you. Orders for robe hire should be placed by 22 October 2021. When placing your robe order, please quote your relevant qualification in full as a specific robe will be allocated to you.
Please ensure you wear smart business attire under your robe.
Specialist graduation photographers, Ede & Ravenscroft, will be available on the day of the ceremony. Full details are available on their website. You are able to book your prints in advance or on the day itself.
Lunch and refreshments
Please note that lunch and refreshments are not included. However, food items and refreshments are available to be purchased at the venue from the cafeteria.

Can CIM advise me on international travel into the UK and visa applications?
In light of COVID-19 with questions arising around international travel, quarantining, vaccinations, and all matters relating to the pandemic, please refer to the United Kingdom border control website here. CIM is not able to offer advice, provide documentation or answer questions relating to these matters.
Additionally, visa applications are the responsibility of the attendee. CIM is strictly unable to provide funding, visa letters, written documentation, or any involvement in applications.
How much are guest tickets and how many guests can I invite?
Graduates are free to attend the Graduation Ceremony. Guest tickets are at a fee of £35 per person (including children over eight). Graduates can invite up to three guests.

Who should I contact about special requirements?

What shall I do about my gown and photography?
You will be able to purchase the hire of your gown and photography directly with Ede & Ravenscroft once you receive your Graduation Ceremony invitation via email. Further information on how to do this can be found in the ‘Other’ section.
Academic dress is imperative if you are a graduate. Without a gown, you will not be permitted into the auditorium to take part in your graduation.
Photography is optional and can be purchased in advance of the Ceremony, or on the day itself.

What time should I arrive at the venue?
Registration opens from 09:30. You will not be permitted to register nor collect your gown prior to this. If you do arrive at the venue early, you will be directed to the cafeteria or the guest waiting area until registration opens.
Will I receive my diploma at the Graduation Ceremony?
Please note that you will not receive your diploma at Graduation – this will be issued to you digitally eight weeks after you have received the results of your final assessment.
