PRESS RELEASE
CIM launches revised marketing qualifications syllabus for Sri Lankan marketers
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), announced a new revised syllabus, which will support marketers across a wide range of roles from marketing assistant to marketing manager. This follows an extensive review of the qualifications on offer to bolster professional development for modern marketers in Sri Lanka ensuring they can compete internationally.
The revised syllabus will cover a range of key topics including:
Onalie Dissanayake, CIM Country Head of Sri Lanka & The Maldives welcomed the news saying: “The revised suite of qualifications will empower Sri Lankan marketers, equipping them with the skills to operate at the highest level. This is particularly important given that we are developing our network across Sri Lanka, expanding study centres and launching new ones in regions such as Kandy, Galle and Jaffna. The new syllabus reflects CIM’s commitment to support Sri Lankan businesses and marketers and the growing need for innovative thinking.”
To reflect the knowledge and skills now required by Sri Lankan marketers and the wider global marketing sector, all existing qualifications have been revised, core mandatory modules refreshed, and new digital content threaded through the syllabus, enabling CIM members to stay ahead. Marketers will also now be able to gain digital qualifications at each level.
The first intake for the revised syllabus in Sri Lanka will be January 2020 and will compliment a level 7 Postgraduate Diploma which was launched last year. In a survey of CIM graduates across the world, 94% stated that they felt more confident in their capabilities since qualifying, with many reporting pay increases and career progress.
Discussing the announcement, Maggie Jones, Director of Qualifications and Partnerships at CIM said: “As part of our commitment to delivering highly relevant and quality courses to our Sri Lankan members, we undertook a complete review of our qualifications to ensure that they closely aligned to the needs of those working in the Sri Lankan business environment.
“We collected comprehensive feedback from study centres, students, employers and academics across the region so that we could be confident that our revised syllabus will support marketers for years to come, keeping them ahead of the curve.”
