May 04, 2017

4:00 PM - Bristol

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into force in just 12 months and it's the biggest shakeup in European data protection rules in 20 years.

The emergence of new technologies, changes in business strategy and increased consumer focus have driven the need for updated regulation. The GDPR, which will take effect on 25 May 2018, introduces a number of new concepts and significantly raises the bar for every business which processes personal data. As well as the threat of increased fines, the risk of reputational impact of data breaches should be on the agenda of all business leaders, from marketing and communications teams to the boardroom itself.

Speakers: Alexandra Leonidou, Senior Associate and data protection specialist, and Tony Jaffa, Partner and leader of the reputation management team at Foot Anstey, will team up to provide insight into the new game-changing data protection regulations. They will also provide their thoughts on how getting ahead with planning can not only help you proactively manage your reputation in this area, but also present opportunities to extract value from your data for your business.

The event will be held at Foot Anstey's offices, just minutes from Temple Meads station. It is open to both CIM members and non-members and will include refreshments.
