8:30 AM - Haydock

This workshop will ensure you are up-to-date with current marketing law. Regardless of Brexit, sweeping changes to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law are on the horizon and you and your clients only have until May 2018 to prepare for them.

This update will demystify many of the myths around how to become more compliant with the new regime and provide you with practical advice on how to get the best value out of marketing databases. Over and above GDPR, this session will also bring you up to date with recent changes in social media marketing and advertising law pre and post-Brexit.

Our speaker Steve Kuncewicz is a principal lawyer in the business advisory team at Slater & Gordon Lawyers in Manchester. He specialises in intellectual property, media and social media law with a particular emphasis on the creative, digital and technology sector. Steve is listed as a "recommended lawyer" in tier 2 of the Legal 500’s 2014, 2015, and 2016 North West Technology, Media & Telecoms section.

He is a regular spokesperson, and has given interviews to local and national press through BBC Breakfast, Sky News, ITV, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live and LBC London.

Steve's first book, 'Legal Issues of Web 2.0 and Social Media', was published in June 2011 and his second book 'Legal Issues of Corporate Communication in the Online World' was published in June 2012.
