GDPR is coming - are you ready?

On 25 May 2018, the UK's current data protection legislation, The Data Protection Act 1998, will be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

GDPR will impose additional obligations on the way organisations lawfully obtain, hold and handle personal data, with a substantial increase in potential fines for non-compliance. David White, Senior Solicitor in Rollits LLP's Data Protection team, will discuss the key changes being introduced by the GDPR and consider some of the steps organisations should be taking to ensure compliance.

David White joined Rollits as a trainee in 2011 and moved to work in the firm's commercial team when he qualified in September 2013. He works in the commercial and IP team advising on commercial matters such as terms and conditions, commercial agency agreements, distribution agreements and contract manufacture arrangements, intellectual property law including copyright, designs, trademarks, patents, know-how and confidential information, and data protection.
