Thinking creatively does not come naturally to everyone, even the best will encounter blocks from time to time. If you are working to tight deadlines, engaging a creative agency can be an attractive but potentially expensive proposition.
Whilst this may, at first sight, seem to be an obvious solution, you may possess the necessary talent within your organisation, you just need to be able to harness and direct it. Creative problem solving is not just brainstorming, most good ideas are a result of a team spending time trying to solve a specific problem or issue.
During this session, we’ll explore how you might think more creatively and some techniques for solving creative problems, drawing from the perspective of a creative agency.

Ian Cole is the founder of Close To Water Digital - a digital design agency that accelerates business growth. With over 15 years’ experience delivering creative campaigns and strategies for brands including Euro Tunnel, The Cabinet Office and Camp America, Ian knows how to push creatively the boundaries of corporate brand guidelines to get his clients’ campaigns to stand out from the crowd without breaking the bank.
This is the first in a series of events being held at the London South Bank University (LSBU) by the newly formed CIM/LSBU marketing club. The aim of the club is to give practicing marketers an opportunity to take some time-out, challenge thinking, learn new skills and share experiences with the next generation of marketing talent.
