At this second CIM/LCF Marketing Club event you will hear first-hand how Lonely Planet draws on information from their self-confessed travel geeks, their staff, who collectively rack up hundreds of thousands of miles each year, exploring almost every destination on the planet. Laura will explain how campaign planning and using a multiplatform approach has delivered maximum impact for the campaign to become renowned globally. This interactive session will showcase how the campaign is developed and implemented – as well as sharing some of the tools and techniques used along the way.
Laura Lindsay is Director of Global Communications at Lonely Planet; an avid traveller, she has worked in the travel industry for almost a decade interspersed with visiting over 40 countries. Currently looking after Lonely Planet’s brand communications; Laura is responsible for Lonely Planet’s reputation in the media, profiles of the company’s spokespeople and internal company communication. Most recently, driving the company’s story of transformation from guidebook publisher to multimedia brand.
The aim of the CIM/LCF Marketing Club is to give practicing marketers an opportunity to take some time-out, challenge thinking, learn new skills and share experiences with the next generation of marketing talent. It’s also designed to give students interested in careers in marketing an opportunity to network with people already working at the coalface.
