In the future your bank or building society, or more precisely the bank-linked app on your mobile device, won’t just allow you to pay for your morning coffee or check your bank balance, it will be able to give you better deals on your electricity bills, book and pay for flights, offer financial advice, approve loans in seconds and even prevent you going into debt.
That’s the promise of 'Open Banking', the revolution that most of us may have missed, but is already underway. The UK’s nine biggest retail banks have been told to share their customers’ data (with their consent and in a secure manner) with approved third-party providers such as new FinTech entrants. This is in order to enable new services such as aggregating multiple bank accounts to provide a single dashboard of your finances.

Moderated by Daniel Henderson from Athlon, the lead design agency appointed by Open Banking Ltd - who will pose the question: 'what does this all mean for financial services marketers?'
Marketers will have to think through the potential benefits of innovative services versus the concerns of customers and consumers using those new offerings.
