March 15, 2017
6:00 PM - Nottingham
High streets are being hit by a perfect storm of online competition, higher rates, and cost pressures on imported goods. While the retail sector often responds with price-led promotions, stores can compete through design.
This event will examine design solutions in retailing, from experiences to regeneration and look to a future that converges online and offline worlds. The learning outcomes of the event will be an ability to describe retail and service design, to analyse the contribution of design to the differentiation of retail store brands, and to evaluate the possibilities of designed store environments in the future. The event is designed for colleagues with an interest in retailing, consumption, place marketing, and services.
The evening will be led by Professor Anthony Kent, Nottingham Trent University and editor of a new book 'Retail Design: Theoretical Perspectives' (2017) with an overview of key developments in retail design.
